Acocks Green Library to commemorate 70 years since Birmingham tram closure

Acocks Green Library in Birmingham is to hold a special event on Saturday 24th June to commemorate 70 years since the last tram operated on the first generation tramway in the city. Taking place between 1000-1300 and 1400-1600 the event will include much of the special collection which the library holds, including some model trams.

This free event takes place on Saturday 24th June and includes the following:

  • Exhibition of handmade 1/16th scale model trams
  • Tram memorabilia
  • Local History exhibition
  • Family crafts

Acocks Green Library is located on Shirley Road in Acocks Green, Birmingham. For satnav users the postcode is B27 7XH. There are a number of small car parks in the local area which can be used and it is around 10 minutes walk from Acocks Green Railway Station.
