Burst water main causes major NET disruption

Nottingham Express Transit has been hit my major disruption after a water main burst causing significant flooding on the tramway. The main burst close to the High Road – Central College stop on Tuesday 7th March with disruption continuing into the following day as repairs were made.

As a result of the flooding a revised service was introduced which saw all trams between the University of Nottingham and Toton Lane suspended. The service from Hucknall was terminated at University of Nottingham with ticket acceptance in place on NCT buses. There was also a limited non-stop bus service running from Toton Lane to University of Nottingham.

In a statement Nottingham Express Transit said: “Although the flooding is beyond our control, we would like to reassure customers that we will restore a full service as soon as it is possible to do so. In the meantime, we would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding.”
