Over the past few weeks there has been some maintenance work taking place on the track at the West Midlands Metro stop at Dudley Street. A number of stops on the network have had a 5kph speed restriction of a while and presumably in order to solve this work has now started at Dudley Street (with Dartmouth Street also seeing similar works).
The work has been taking place at the platform ends and has involved the removal of the brick surface which sits between the rails before some welding of the track has taken place.
