Over the past few months there have been a few issues with the well used points at Cathedral but with a view to rectifying this issue, Monday 23rd January 2023 saw a Supertram maintenance crew attending to them.
The points at Cathedral are some of the most used on the system as they allow terminating trams from Herdings Park and Rotherham Parkgate to access the correct platform at Cathedral. As a result they are used at least three times every hour, more regularly at times when trams are starting to return to depot.
The maintenance takes place with the mechanism of the points being attended to.
A tram waits to continue its journey as the work on the points is ongoing.
