In Pictures: Another Edinburgh Trams advert

Not previously reported on British Trams Online was the application of another new advert on a tram in Edinburgh in the lead-up to Christmas. The tram to receive the advert was 267 which received vinyls for Christmas shopping and dining at St James Quarter.

The advert – the fifth different ad to be carried by 267 – is (of course!) in the usual Edinburgh Trams style of having full height adverts on the third and fifth sections with the remainder of the tram just having ads above the windows. The base colour of the advert was dark blue with it telling everyone “Christmas is just around the Quarter”. By next Christmas it will be even easier to get to St James Quarter with the Newhaven extension due to have opened by then.

This latest advert replaces the one for the Johnnie Walker Visitor Attraction (which had been carried since September 2021) and also follows ads for C R Smith (September 2017-June 2019), EE 5G (June-August 2019) and Spotify (August-December 2019).

Taken whilst West End was the city centre terminus for the trams during the Hogmanay celebrations (which returned to Edinburgh in full for the first time since 2019) this first shot shows 267 leaving West End with a service to the Airport. Its using the crossover to gain the correct track.

And then we turn around and see the tram heading away from the camera. Coates Crescent is on the extreme right and another tram can be seen in the distance approaching the stop. (Both Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 31st December 2022)
