In Pictures: The “Auld Tram” in Dundee

In many towns and cities across the UK there are coffee shops/kiosks which are in temporary structures – and some of these are designed to look like trams. There is one such one in Dundee but unlike many of the others across the country this one is also sat on old tram tracks!

The rocker panel tells us that this “tram” is operated by The Bridgeview Station Tramway Co. Ltd whilst at the front it has the name “The Auld Tram”. But it is “just” a coffee kiosk selling everything you would expect to get from such an establishment! This view shows the tram sat on the tram tracks.

A view of the other side of the tram.

And here we see the other end of “no. 2”. (All Photographs by Stanton Copley, 20th September 2022)

  1. Andrew says:

This actually IS a real tram though – its part of a Dundee steam tram trailer which was restored by the MTPS and then sold on for use in its new role after a number of years on display at Birkenhead.
