Its another small line-up for this latest look at Crich depot fan photo line-ups – but what a combination!
In 2014 for the Electric 50 event (celebrating 50 years of electric trams running at Crich) it was the ambition to be able to run 25 electric trams. To achieve this several trams came to visit Crich, including Newcastle 114 from Beamish. With Crich being the home of another Newcastle tram – 102 – the chance to display the two together was one which could not to resisted! This line-up took place on 13th September 2014.
Beamish’s 114 had special between deck boards prepared for the event to say “Fifty Years of Service” (it had previously received these to say Forty Years of Service” for celebrations on its home tramway the previous year). Sitting alongside 102 on the depot fan the two Newcastle trams are reunited after a long-time apart. (Photograph by Hazel Quarmby)
This side-on view shows the board better as the difference in length between the two trams is evident. With 102 in the works at Crich now maybe one side day this line-up can be repeated at Beamish? (Photograph by Gareth Prior)
