In Pictures: Let it Snow! West Midlands Metro edition

We saw tram and snow in Edinburgh earlier this week and we now make our way down the country to the West Midlands Metro where the white stuff had fallen on the ground on 11th December to bring these picture postcard views. This time it was Andy Walters who wrapped up warm to capture these images for us.

On the left its snow covered and on the right its snow covered! Two unidentified trams because the snow is blocking their numbers pass at Wednesbury Great Western Street on 11th December. The one of the left is an Urbos100 and on the right its an Urbos3.

The snow is coming down quite heavily as 46 comes through bound for Wolverhampton St George’s.

Bradley Lane for another unidentified tram.

Bilston Road is full of slush as 43 heads serenely through on the way to Edgbaston Village.

44 comes off the Wishbone Bridge in Wolverhampton.

Through the square bridge is 45!

A changeover of trams at Wednesbury Parkway with 42 coming into service as 46 is taken out of use.

There was still snow around on 12th December as 40 is heading to Wolverhampton and 18 is off to Edgbaston Village. (All Photographs by Andy Walters)

  1. Michael Morton says:

Both trams in the top photograph are CAF Urbos 3s. The body side shape on the CAF Urbos 100 is almost straight unlike the curve on the Urbos 3.
The CAF Urbos 100s have their front and rear mounted CCTV unit immediately below the destination which, on the Urbos 100 is slewed to one side.
The Metro logo on the Urbos 100 is also smaller and lower down to allow for the “in-service” light positioned on the dash.

And there’s loads more differences too
and that’s just too be outside ,even more on the inside ?
