15 Years Apart: Stagecoach Supertram 102

We take a look at a modern tram in 2007 and 2022 in today’s edition of “15 Years Apart” with a trip north to Sheffield.

Over the years the trams on the Supertram network have enjoyed the biggest variety of fleet liveries. Starting off in grey they soon received Stagecoach white, which had a couple of different versions. It’s the second main version we see here on 102 as it calls at Woodbourn Road on 7th June 2007 on a Yellow service to Middlewood. This version featured a dark blue strip at the bottom (the previous version had this missing). By 2007 the tram had also lost its original roller blinds in favour of electronic destination displays.

On 17th March 2022 and 102 is now in the more recent blue based Stagecoach livery – almost certainly to be its last Stagecoach livery with the network coming under public control from 2024. We see 102 here approaching Sheffield Station with a Blue route service to Halfway. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
