“Around the World in Trams” today is again taking a look at some of the trams in operation in Vienna, Austria.
On the left hand side of this shot is class E2 no. 4867 which, at the time, was being used on the “Ring Tram”. This is a tourist service that runs along the Ring strasse from Schwedenplatz and includes commentary in several different languages. This tram service still runs today but not with 4867 which has since been withdrawn.
The photo is completed by E2 tram 4830 coupled with C class trailer 1308. Both of these trams have also been withdrawn from service – the motor succumbed in 2015 with the trailer following in 2018.
