In Pictures: West Midlands Metro 36 at the end of the rainbow

Birmingham Pride – which takes place in the city on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September – is being celebrated and support by the West Midlands Metro again with Urbos3 36 receiving a special livery complete with rainbows. This is just the latest Pride based livery to be carried by a tram in the West Midlands with previous trams also having carried similar temporary vinyls.

36 is one of nine Urbos3 trams which are known to have returned to service on the West Midlands Metro which coupled with the eight Urbos100 trams means there are now at least 17 trams available to operate the service. At the current time there appear to be no plans to increase the service frequency.

The latest arrivals in the city – 46 and 47 – have started overnight testing but have not yet been noted out on the mainline during daylight hours but it isn’t expected to be too long before they break cover and start the road to entering service.

For the record the Urbos3s which have run since the resumption of services are 18, 19, 21, 22, 31, 34, 36 and 37.

  1. Andy Williams says:

23 is missing from the list of nine Urbos 3s back in traffic.
