Out and About: Edinburgh’s Princes Street

In this latest edition of “Out and About” we return to Edinburgh as we take a look at a tram running along Princes Street – a strangely quiet Princes Street with no other traffic getting in the way for a change.

This is 277 running along Princes Street with a service to the Airport which would have started back at St Andrew Square – the temporary terminus of the line until next spring during the Trams to Newhaven extension works. The tram has been carrying this advert for the Edinburgh International Festival since June 2021. This advert will cheer a large number of Edinburgh businesses, so many of which rely on tourism and in particular during the annual Festival. After a couple of years of a much reduce festival its planned that 2022 will see things returning somewhere approaching normality. (Photograph by Robin Barnes, 13th April 2022)
