Have your say on British Trams Online!

British Trams Online has been on the internet for over 19 years now and there is very nearly no room at the inn! We have now filled over 95% of our available webspace and although there is the option to upgrade to have even more space I’ve made the decision that we will start to clear some of the older material in the Photo Galleries. This means that later this year (when this happens is yet to be confirmed as it depends on when we start to really run out of space – its all down to the number of items on the website as opposed to the size of them and every photo page in a gallery actually is 2 items as the photo and webpage are separate) we will start to remove the older galleries starting off with those that remain from 2010. I don’t believe that these older galleries are regularly viewed and with our “Picture in Time” specials a lot of those photos may reappear again in the future anyway! We are also taking this opportunity to launch a quick survey – read on for more on this.

This survey will allow you to tell us what you look at on the site now and what you woukd like to see in the future (or even what you don’t want to see!).  I’m often told in passing that we have a bias to this tramway or against this tramway so now is your chance to tell us what you want to see more of going forward! We do have page view stats switched on for the News & Features page (and have done for the past two and a half years) so we know which type of articles are the most popular (and its generally Blackpool stories!) although the accuracy of these stats can be questioned as one of the most popular articles we have had in these two and half years is a preview of a Blackpool Gold Weekend in 2014!

If you do have the time we would love to hear from you in the survey which is pretty brief and should take no more than a couple of minutes of your time. It is completely anonymous and there is a free text bit at the end where you can really tell us what you think!

The survey can be accessed at https://forms.gle/1i4Hc5KDsqeCKCAL8. Thank you in advance to anyone who completes this survey!
