On we go towards Fleetwood with the next stop on the Blackpool Tramway in “Stop by Stop” being Thornton Gate.
In the last article we were just leaving West Drive stop with the tramway heading over the road of the same name before it continues on its segregated section of line alongside Rossall Road until it reaches Thornton Gate. There are shelters on both platforms here with lighting and information panels provided. The stop also has additional signs for Manor Beach Primary School below the stop name.
This photo is taken from the southbound platform and looks north. The shelters on both platforms can be seen with Rossall Road beyond the far platform. Note the sign of the local Primary School below the Thornton Gate name on the left.
005 arrives at Thornton Gate on its way to Starr Gate.
002 has just departed from Thornton Gate as it works its service north to Fleetwood Ferry. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior, 25th September 2020)
