Around the World in Trams: Kolkata 710

Today’s “Around the World in Trams” makes another visit to India as we take a look inside and out of another one of the trams running on the system.

In this edition we feature a newer tram than the previous couple of weeks with 710 being built in 1988. Again Burn & Co were the manufacturer with a slightly revised design seeing this designated as a class N. As with the entire fleet it is fitted with a trolley pole.

In this first photo we see 710 showing off an advertising livery as it sits waiting.

The interior of the tram may have seen better days when captured on 24th February 2010 but at least we can clearly see the fleet number which is in English here.

Both Photographs by John Moore
