In Pictures: Signs of the new fares in Blackpool

Earlier this month we brought you the news that fares across the Blackpool Transport network would be increasing as from Sunday 16th January and now as part of the publicity campaign to let would be passengers know small signs have been added to the cabs of the Flexity2 trams operating the core service. Two are applied to the tram – one on each side.

The new fares see increases to all tickets whether purchased digitally before travelling or on board the trams. The most significant rise is for the single ticket which has gone up by 50p to £2.60 (covering a journey between any two stops on the tramway) but saver tickets have also seen rises. All the new fares can be seen at https://images.blackpooltransport.com/downloads/C1060%20A5%202020.pdf.

We’re not sure how useful these small signs will be for any unsuspecting passenger boarding a tram but all trams in service have now had these affixed with one on each side of the tram. This is 011 at North Pier showing us all. Note also the larger and more permanent window stickers further along the tram about contactless payments now being available on the trams.
