In Pictures: Blackpool 31 kicks off the year at Beamish

Having been one of the last heritage tramways to run in the UK during 2021, Beamish has been one of the first to run in 2022 with the museum being open across the festive period with the trams part of the attractions on offer. And with unseasonably warm temperatures being experienced there was a chance to take a ride on an open top tram at the turn of the year with the one tram service being in the reliable old wheels of Blackpool 31. In this pictorial article we see some of the tram sights around Beamish on 2nd January 2022 from the camera of Trevor Hall.

Blackpool 31 stands at the Entrance as it works an anti-clockwise service to the Town from Foulbridge.

Looking into the depot and with Newcastle 114 partially seen on the left we take a good look at Sheffield 264, Sunderland 16 and Oporto 196.

Alongside 196 remains Newcastle trolleybus 501 waiting for a time when an operating trolleybus route is added as part of the Remaking Beamish project. (All Photographs by Trevor Hall, 2nd January 2022)
