Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours have become the latest to announce their plans for Christmas with a special Magical Express Tour taking place regularly from mid-November all the way through to the start of 2022! The Magical Express Tour will be a special 25 minute trip on board a special Christmas themed, double-decker – and these tours will be the only chance to travel on it!
With Blackpool Illuminations extended this year through to 3rd January 2022, there has also been the addition of a special “Christmas by the Sea” event which is taking place on the Tower Headland from Friday 19th November until Monday 3rd January. It will include a free ice skating rink, simulated snowfalls, a magical forest, log cabins serving a range of festive treats and goodies plus festive Tower projections as well. Adding to the spirit of the season, Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours are also getting in on the action by running The Magical Express Tour. Running from North Pier and Tower heritage stop (renamed North Pole for the occasion!) the tram will head down to Pleasure Beach and back with a trip lasting around 25 minutes and costing £4 for adults and £2 for children. They will run every half an hour and although you can pre-book there should be plenty of walk-up places available as well.
Its been advertised as there being “no better way to see the lights” although it won’t be covering the full illuminations and with some tours starting at 1300 there possibly won’t be much to see but despite that this will be an excellent chance to get in the Christmas spirit on board a heritage tram either before or after visiting “Christmas by the Sea”.
Tours will take place as follows:
- 19th November to 12th December: Fridays to Sundays only – Fridays 1700-2030, Saturday/Sunday 1300-2030
- 17th December to 3rd January: Monday to Sunday 1300-2030 (no tours run on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day)
