Stop by Stop Blackpool Tramway: Anchorsholme Lane

Today we reach Anchorsholme Lane on our northbound journey on the Blackpool Tramway.

On the left hand side as we depart from Little Bispham we come across Little Bispham loop which is used to turn short running trams. As we continue northbound we pass the signalled junction to the loop and then also pass the loop exit before Anchorsholme Park dominates the left hand side of the tramway for the next section. Its then another road crossing as Fleetwood Road crosses the path of the tramway and shortly after we have got passed this we arrive at the next stop – Anchorsholme Lane. The road is now either side of the tram tracks and talking about either side that’s how the platforms are here. Both platforms again have shelters plus information cases etc.

Looking back south this is Anchorsholme Lane. The road crossing mentioned in the text above is seen in the background.

005 departs from Anchorsholme Lane north for Fleetwood Ferry. Another road crossing is seen in the distance.

The relatively narrow southbound platform at Anchorsholme Lane greets 010 as it heads a service to Starr Gate. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior, 25th September 2020)
