Lockdown Walks: Stagecoach Supertram 399 201

In this edition of “Lockdown Walks” we take a trip out to the terminus of the newest section of the Stagecoach Supertram network at Rotherham Parkgate.

With the exception of the terminus at Meadowhall Interchange, the other five termini on the Supertram network consist of just a single platform and that at Rotherham Parkgate is no different. Located just off the railway line which the Tram-Train service shares as it joins Network Rail metals after Tinsley Chord the stop includes everything you could possibly want from a tramstop!

A few more passengers than we had been used to are seen on the platform at Parkgate here having just disembarked from 399 201 and now heading their way to some retail therapy at the adjacent shopping complex. Also note the sign on the doors requesting that people allow passengers to get off before attempting to board.

Another view of 201 looking beyond the end of the platform. The Network Rail line is the other side of the fence on the right with the shopping centre on the left. (Both Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 29th April 2021)
