Lockdown Walks: Manchester Metrolink 3064

Today’s “Lockdown Walks” is out and about in Manchester again as sunny skies greet us and the Metrolink network.

The very short extension of the Manchester Metrolink system to MediaCityUK opened to passengers on 20th September 2010. The 0.22 mile line is in effect a spur off the Eccles line with trams able to run both to Eccles and towards Manchester from the junction located between the stops at Harbour City and Broadway. At the time of writing the line doesn’t have its own dedicated service with all trams from Ashton-under-Lyne to MediaCityUK instead running via MediaCityUK but before the pandemic hit for most of the day it was served by a service from Ashton.
