In Pictures: Buses back at Beamish – trams still over three months away!

Monday 17th May saw the return of normal transport operation at Beamish with a bus service now able to run around the museum site again. While the buses are now back running it remains a different story for the trams with no change to the plans that a Circular Tour service will resume from 4th September. Caution: This article contains a photo of buses without a tram in sight!

For anyone who is planning to visit Beamish over the next few months the buses are currently running a service in two parts. They start from the Entrance and run to the start of the Town where passengers then have to alight to allow the bus crew to sanitise the vehicles. The buses then resume again by the Bandstand and head back to the Entrance. The Access Bus also remains available on a request basis.

As for the trams there has been no change to where they are all kept in the depot as they wait for their chance in the sun again. Before any tram service can resume there are some works on the tramway required as well as the usual crew re-familiarisation. Trams should start again on 4th September.
