Road resurfacing works on Eccles New Road will see no Manchester Metrolink service between MediaCityUK and Eccles from Saturday 20th March until Monday 5th April. Throughout this period there will be a replacement bus service from MediaCityUK to Eccles, although this will not serve any intermediate stops.
During the works all trams will run from MediaCityUK to Ashton-under-Lyne only and the stops at Broadway, Langworthy, Weaste, Ladywell and Eccles will be closed. For the intermediate stops there will be no specific replacement bus service with TfGM providing alternative arrangements for any passengers wishing to travel to or from them – in most cases this seems to be how long it will take to walk to either Eccles or MediaCityUK. There will be no ticket acceptance on any alternative modes of transport (bus or rail) so additional tickets would have to be purchased.
