Special Metrolink season ticket launched for Manchester City fans

Transport for Greater Manchester and Manchester City FC have worked together to come up with a special offer for season ticket holders at the Barclays Premier League runners-up who travel by Metrolink to games. For just £70 (adults) and £30 (children aged 5-16) season ticket holders will be able to travel from any stop of the Metrolink network to Etihad Campus on any first team match day (the 19 Premier League home games plus any cup matches).

The Metrolink matchday season ticket can only be bought alongside Manchester City season tickets which are now available for purchase from the football club. Details on how to get the Metrolink ticket is available on the Manchester City website at www.mcfc.co.uk/seasoncard.

Peter Cushing, TfGM Metrolink Director, said: “Manchester is the most famous footballing city in the world and the game contributes millions to the local economy every year. We’re proud that Metrolink offers a fast, frequent and reliable matchday service for football fans travelling across the region. It’s a premier league tram system and we are delighted that Manchester City is on board with our drive to get matchday traffic off the roads and on to our trams. The new Metrolink season ticket offers great value for money and a hassle free journey to the Etihad.”

Transport for Greater Manchester are also in discussions with other football teams on the network to introduce similar deals.
