Five arrested over Woodisde tram attack

Five men – aged between 17 and 21 – have been arrested following the attack on a tram at Woodside on London Tramlink on 25 April. As we reported at the time the men smashed four windows on the tram after an altercation with other passengers causing delays to the service and the tram having to be taken out of use. After the incident the British Transport Police started an investigation which has resulted in the arrest and the release of an image of another individual they wish to speak to.

Further details have also now been released of the incident. As the doors to the tram opened the group of men rushed on board and started to attack three passengers with belts and metal poles before being pushed off the tram. Having been forced off the tram they then started to throw objects at the tram which caused the four windows to be broken and the tram to be taken out of service.

The British Transport Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are urging anyone with information to contact them on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference B12/LSA of 25/04/2013.
