Bridge demolished ahead of schedule as roads reopen in Sandwell

A bridge on Coneygree Road in Sandwell has been demolished ahead of schedule as work continues on preparatory works for the extension of the West Midlands Metro between Wednesbury and Brierley Hill.

Work on the demolition of the bridge started in October and good progress was made throughout the month and into November which allowed the old structure to be removed in plenty of time for the reopening of Coneygree Road and Victoria Road to two way traffic from Friday 6th November.

A new bridge will be needed to replace this but that will be added at a later date.
