Picture in Time: Midland Metro 05

Over the past few weeks we have seen what was in reality a fairly light snowfall in February 2012 on the Midland Metro but this week we move forward a year to a time when a much heavy snowfall had been experienced.

The date of this photo is 23rd March 2013 and save for the path of the southbound track you can see a fairly significant depth of snow on both the platforms and the northbound track (quite why the northbound track is far worse who knows!) at Wednesbury Parkway. Snow is still coming down which probably explains why those passengers waiting for the tram are all sheltering under the shelter (long before we had to worry about social distancing!). In this view we see 05 – another of those trams in the Silver and Magenta livery – which has a plain yellow destination blind showing as it just arrives at the stop.

Gareth, your new software has done something weird to poor old car 5 – it’s been ‘squeezed’ so that it looks 50% taller and 50% narrower! (For information, I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser.)

Also, how do I get rid of the little box saying “Privacy & Cookies Policy” at the bottom mid-right of my screen?
