We have a historic feel to this edition of “So Nearly, Not Quite!” as we are heading back to 1969.
Of course, 1969 was well before digital photography had been thought of and when a photo didn’t come out as you expected it was more crucial and so it was with this image of Blackpool Railgrinder 2 at Crich during the annual Extravaganza of that year. Each year around this time as an added attraction at this event no. 2 received external illuminations as can be seen in this photo. With the tram stationary the camera was taken out the shutter was pressed and then a couple walk by right in front of the tram! Ah, never mind, better luck next time!
