Isle of Man webcams

The official Isle of Man Tourism website features a page of webcams so you can see what is going on at various locations around the Island. This includes four at Bungalow of which three show the Snaefell Mountain Railway so you can spend your day watching as it refreshes every minute to see if you can spot a tram (but you will have quite a wait at the moment with the snow causing a delay in the start of services for 2013 until 1st May)! The webcams can be found at http://www.gov.im/tourism/webcam/webcam.aspx.

Strictly speaking, the cameras show the Snaefell Mountain Railway, rather than the MER per se.

I should have added that you will have to wait a while before you can spot any trams on these webcams, since the seasonal re-opening of the SMR has been postponed to 1st May, on account of weather damage to the OHLE. There is also snow on the track, which you CAN see on the webcams!

    Correct. Spectacular railway though.

Oops! Story now corrected. That’s what happens when I write a story about somewhere I’ve never been…yet! I suppose the giveaway should have been that the webcams are on Mountain Road!
