In Preview: Blackpool Winter Gold, 14th and 15th March 2020

The second Winter Gold event of 2020 is due to take place this weekend, 14th and 15th March with the standard timetable in operation with six trams in action each day plus the Shop Tram running one service in the late afternoon. The weekend will see the usual mix of trams with highlights looking set to be the use of Bolton 66 and the illuminated Trawler on the first day.

What trams are due be in service?

If all goes according to plan 13 different trams will run over the course of the weekend with the only “duplicate” being Balloon 718 as the Shop Tram on both days. Seven different classes will be represented so there should hopefully be something for everyone to enjoy at some point!

What timetable is running?

The new Winter Gold timetable will again be used with services running on the complete length of the tramway between Starr Gate and Fleetwood Ferry. Trams A and E will run to Fleetwood twice with B, D and F having one trip to Fleetwood whilst C will be mainly running Prom specials. How much will it cost?

Standard Heritage fares will be valid including the excellent value Day Travelcard at £12 for adults (£6 for children, £28 family ticket and concession £10) – you can also buy a discounted 3 day version for £30 (adult) and £15 (child) through the Blackpool Transport app. Full details of fares are available on the Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours website.
