Picture in Time: London Tramlink 2545, 2547 and 2546

It’s a more modern image than we have featured recently from Tramlink for today’s edition of “Picture in Time” with the trams having already received the more recent fleet livery.

This image was taken at East Croydon and shows three consecutively numbered trams occupying the three platforms at the stop – if only 2547 and 2546 has been the other way round and it would have been a perfect ascending order! On the left we see 2545 which is operating an eastbound service although the destination can’t be read while the centre platform – fairly rarely used – is occupied by 2547 and will be running a service to New Addington. The scene is completed by 2546 which has just terminated with a service from Beckenham Junction. Judging by the central platform being used and that 2546 has terminated presumably there is some engineering work underway on the central Croydon loop. The photo was taken on 28th August 2013.
