Of the Flexity2s in Blackpool for any length of time 005 has proved to be rather elusive as it has been confined to Starr Gate depot with several reported defects. This was, however, changed on Friday 24th February when it was used on New South Promenade on brake tests.
005 is like all other Flexity2s in Blackpool, with the exception of 001, in that it has yet to have any of livery embellishments or external number identification applied since arriving
from Germany. Recently the lack of numbers has been temporarily rectified by a rather crude piece of paper in the cabs. Obviously before the trams enter service at Easter – hopefully – the full livery will have to be applied as currently the doors do not seem to comply with the latest disability discrimination acts.
