They Ran in 2019: Blackpool Centenary 648

Once again it is Blackpool we head to for the latest instalment of “They Ran in 2019” – the tram is Centenary 648.

By no means the most popular tram in the heritage fleet, Centenary 648 still plays a vital role and for much of 2019 has been the only operational one person operated tram in the heritage fleet with 642 being absent with a fault. Mainly seeing use during gold weekends the tram has also occasionally been used on the regular Promenade tours.

Our first photo shows 648 standing at Bold Street, Fleetwood on 26th May 2019 having just arrived with a heritage service from Pleasure Beach.

Then in this second photo we see 648 at the southbound North Pier/Tower heritage stop on 28th September 2019.
