Metro Matters members get a guided tour of Westside extension

You may recall earlier this year that the West Midlands Metro were looking for travellers on the system to sign up to become a member of a new customer forum, to be known as Metro Matters. Well, that forum is now up and running and members were recently invited to take a guided tour of the Birmingham Westside extension ahead of its opening next month.

The Metro Matters members were invited along by the Midland Metro Alliance to see progress on the new line and this included a walking guided tour from Grand Central to Centenary Square.

Vicki Bennett, Customer Services Manager at West Midlands Metro, said: “The extension is really taking shape and members of the forum were particularly excited to see the tram stop platforms and shelters in place. They were also interested to learn about the work of the alliance in developing other extension projects and are now looking forward to being amongst the first customers to take the tram to Centenary Square!”
