Santa Claus is coming to Edinburgh Trams again!

After the success of last year’s Santa Express on Edinburgh Trams the man himself will again be heading back to the Scottish capital at the start of December and this time around he will be travelling on the tram for two days – Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd December. Pre-bookable journeys will be running between Gyle Centre and St Andrew Square with tickets also valid for a return journey too.

The trips will run as follows:

Sunday 1st December at 1025, 1140 and 1250

Monday 2nd December at 1025 and 1250

All these journeys will start at Gyle Centre and run to St Andrew Square. Tickets cost £2.80 for one child and one supervising adult with any additional adults able to travel for a further £1.80. In both cases 80p will be used to cover admin fees with the remaining ticket price going to the Edinburgh Trams nominated charity of the year, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.

Santa will be on board each trip and will meet all children on board (only tickets to cover all seats on the tram will be sold so it is strictly managed how many can travel on each trip) and they will also receive a selection box too.

There will also be an additional trip for specially invited children and families who have a special connection to the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.

The Edinburgh Trams Gyle Santa Express is being organised jointly by Edinburgh Trams and the Gyle Centre, oh and Santa himself!

Lea Harrison, Managing Director of Edinburgh Trams, said: “Santa and trams is a magical combination, especially for those with transport daft little ones. The added bonus is that it’s for a great cause with Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity benefitting from some festive fun.”

* Tickets for the trips can be pre-booked online through EventBrite.
