In Preview: Beer and Bands combine at Crich

The May Day Bank Holiday will once again see the Beer and Bands event at the Crich Tramway Village with a number of bands confirmed to appear over the two days of the event – Sunday 5th and Monday 6th May. And, of course, there will be a tram service at the home of the National Tramway Museum.

Bands confirmed to appear are Belper Town Wind Band and Newmount Brass in the Bandstand on Sunday whilst Stunt Double will appear in the Red Lion followed by folk group, Box O’ Frogs. There will also be a display of Morris dancing and clog dancing near the Town End terminus between 1430 and 1530.

Then on Monday 6th May Doveholes Brass and Newmount Brass will be in the Bandstand with Silver Sax and Hag Farm Conspiracy in the Learning Centre and the Red Lion will be home to Andy Martin and Friends. The Maypole Movers will also be in action between 1200 and 1600, also offering the chance for the public to have a go at Maypole dancing!

The beer side of the event will see local cask ales, wines, ciders, gin and bottled beers at The Red Lion and if you get peckish Rita’s Tea Rooms will have a range of locally sourced pies, delicious scones and cakes. The Red Lion will remain open until 2300 on Sunday 5th May, subject to demand.
