In Pictures: Track work at Beamish

Tuesday 2nd April saw some pre-planned track maintenance work at Beamish which meant that trams were unable to travel between the depot and the town. This led to trams reversing at each end with the unusual sight of tram crews having to reverse the trolley throughout the day. A two-tram service was once again in operation with Sunderland 16 and Blackpool 31 the chosen pair. Trevor Hall with the photos.

The crew of Sunderland 16 demonstrate the trolley reversal at the town.

Blackpool 31 and the replica “B” type bus seen together at Pockerley with both heading towards the town.

Down at the depot and Oporto C65 remains at the head of road 2. Blackpool & Fleetwood 40 is next across whilst road 4 sees Newcastle 114 and Manchester 765 in situ. With it being around a week until the Great North Steam Fair this depot is likely to be considerably emptier! (All Photographs by Trevor Hall, 2nd April 2019)
