In Pictures: Purple Tram Friday

Friday 17th August was the second of three Purple Tram Fridays at Crich where Blackpool Jubilee 762, in its advertising livery for Nickelodeon Land at the Pleasure Beach, was in operation as part of a four tram service at the museum. Also in service were fellow Blackpool cars Toastrack 166 and Brush 630 along with London County Council 106.

Purple Tram Fridays seek to attract families to Crich with the tram’s advertising livery very popular with children – of all ages! With many easily recognisable characters including Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer on the advert it is an excellent way to get children interested in visiting Crich – and who knows maybe they could become the enthusiasts of the future!

As Blackpool 166 heads off with a good load of passengers it passes Blackpool 762 waiting at Stephenson Place to be called forward to the loading stop.

Passengers board 762 at the Town End terminus in the distance with London County Council 106 waiting for the tram to depart. Berlin 223 006-4 can also be seen in this view.
