Trackworks to lead to temporary timetable on NET

We’ve become used to line closures on UK tramways to allow for rail replacement works with the latest system to be affected being Nottingham Express Transit. From Thursday 23rd August until Sunday 2nd September no trams will be able to run between Wilkinson Street and The Forest to allow for essential work to replace the tracks on the loop line through Hyson Green.

Throughout this period trams will run from Hucknall and Phoenix Park to Wilkinson Street where passengers will have to change for replacement buses – or a walk! – to The Forest. Services to Toton Lane and Clifton South will run from The Forest. There will be no trams at Shipstone Street, Beaconsfield Street, Hyson Green Market, Radford Road and Noel Street.

Trams will not run before 0600 and after midnight during this period with Monday to Saturdays then seeing a 15 minute frequency between 0600 and 0700 and from 2100 to 0000, with a tram every 10 minutes at all other times. Sundays and Bank Holidays will see the 15 minute frequency running from 1900 to 0000 (as well as 0600 to 0700) with the 10 minute frequency just between 0700 and 1900.
