Picture in Time: Nottingham Express Transit 207

Today Picture in Time is back in Nottingham for an image taken on just the second day of public service.

That date was 10th March 2004 which was a chilly day with a few snow showers, just to welcome trams back to the streets of Nottingham. With it still being new trams were busy throughout the day with locals finding out just what it was all about.

In this view we see 207 at the Station Street terminus ready to depart with a service for Phoenix Park. The main thing to note here is that the tram was yet to be named – it would eventually receive the name Mavis Worthington – and despite the system being only new there is still advertising on the tram with the commercial department obviously having worked overtime in the build-up to the opening.
