Around the World in Trams: Potsdam 9

Our around the world trip is in Germany for this latest instalment with a view of a historic tram from the system in Potsdam.

Potsdam is often overshadowed by its larger neighbour in Berlin but it operates a complex well run and modern tramway system of its own apart from being a beautiful and historic place to visit. In common with most German cities it has a museum fleet which includes this tram, Lindner 9 built in 1909 and well restored inside and out. The occasion of this special trip was a visit of Stadler Variobahn users and is seen at Glienicker Bridge on 9th September 2017.

We also see the tram later on the same day at Betriebhof.

  1. Christoph Heuer says:

The car has an interesting history. Basically, it was rebuilt with only the frames of the truck being original and everything else being sourced from various other museums or a replica. See https://www.historische-strassenbahn-potsdam.de/motorwagen-nr-9/ for details. However, it is in German only.
