And overhead problems on Isle of Man too!

They say bad things come in threes and that definitely seems to be the case with overhead wires! Over the past few days we have reported on overhead problems in Edinburgh and on Manchester Metrolink but just before both of these happened there were issues on the Manx Electric Railway as well!

A fallen wire was reported on the section of the MER between Laxey and Ramsey during the afternoon of Wednesday 8th May which led to a complete suspension of services on this section for around one and a half hours. A normal service on the northern section resumed shortly before 1600.

In order to fully complete repairs the service was again suspended between Laxey and Ramsey with the last tram due to depart Laxey at 1110 and from Ramsey at 1240. With the repairs fully completed it was back to normal from Friday 11th May.
