Awards for Midland Metro Alliance

The Midland Metro Alliance have recently one two awards at the prestigious Institution of Civil Engineers West Midlands Awards, including one for the track relaying project along Bilston Road in Wolverhampton.

The track maintenance project on Bilston Road was given the accolade of Large Project of the Year. This category recognised the project as it demonstrated excellent techniques in civil engineering.

The other award won by the Alliance was the Education and Inspiration Award. This was presented for the Sector Based Works Academy, which helps to get the careers of local people on the right track. The Midland Metro Alliance have worked in partnership with local colleges, the Department for Works and Pensions, councils and other funding bodies, supporting the design and delivery of bespoke six week courses in Light Rail.

Alejandro Moreno, Midland Metro Alliance Director, said: “We’re delighted that the team at the Midland Metro Alliance walked away with not just one, but two awards last night. The Midland Metro Alliance is dedicated to leaving a lasting legacy that the West Midlands can be truly proud of and we are delighted to be recognised by our peers.”
