Blackpool heritage output for Easter announced

The full provisional list of which trams will be operating the enhanced heritage service in Blackpool over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend has now been revealed, with at least six historic trams set to appear over three days. As usual, these will be a good mix of different vehicles which will hopefully keep everybody happy.

The highlight of the weekend is sure to be the return to use of Standard 147 which had not run in Blackpool for just over two years, having spent time on loan to Beamish Museum followed by an extended spell in the workshops at Rigby Road. There will also be a further chance to sample the two visiting Brush cars, 623 and 630, both of which are expected to return to their preservation homes at Heaton Park and Crich Tramway Village respectively. Add in a few trams running in service for the first time this year and hopefully we have the makings of a rather good weekend!

The full provisional list of trams due to operate over the Easter weekend is as follows:

Saturday 31st March – Standard 147, Brush 631, Centenary 648, and Balloons 700, 717 & 719

Sunday 1st April – Bolton 66, Standard 147, Brush 623, Railcoach 680, and Balloons 700, 701 & 715

Monday 2nd April – Box 40, Standard 147, Brush cars 621 & 630, and Balloons 700, 718 & 723

On all three days, heritage tram souvenirs will be on sale aboard car 700 which will be utilised in service, rather than stabled at North Pier as was the case at the last Gold weekend. Note that, as always, all advertised trams may be subject to change without notice.
