Aberdeen 54 sold at auction

Aberdeen 54 has been sold at auction with the remains of the tram body purchased for £500, which considering the poor condition of the remaining parts of the lower saloon was a high price to pay.

As we reported last week the tram was part of a large number of vintage items sold at a farm auction which took place on 21st October at Netherton Insch. As well as the tram there were vintage tractors and farm machinery available.

The tram body was purchased by the owner of ACE winches who also owns a lot of steam traction engines, lorries and rollers. The plan is that it will be restored as a fishing hut by the Deveron.
