Excellent progress being made on Bilston Road

As previously reported on these very pages work to replace the track along Bilston Road commenced on Sunday 11th June with Midland Metro services curtailed at Priestfield. With the six month project now underway the Midland Metro Alliance have given a brief update on the “excellent” progress being made so far.

The track and road surface on one side of the tramway has now been totally removed and preparations are being made for the first concrete pour. It is planned that this will take place soon.

The work is scheduled to be completed in December to allow full services to resume ahead of Christmas.
