There will be track maintenance work affecting Manchester Metrolink services on Sunday 2nd April; this time the work will be in the City Centre and will mean that the first time since the Second City Crossing opened services between Bury and Altrincham will be diverted onto the new line.
There will no tram stop closures but there are changes to the service patterns and prospective passengers are advised to check just which city centre stop they will need to be at to get to their required destination.
The following services are due to run:
Altrincham to Bury via Exchange Square
Ashton-under-Lyne to Victoria
Deansgate-Castlefield to Manchester Airport
Eccles to Piccadilly via MediaCityUK (from 1600 this service will be terminated at Cornbrook with a replacement bus running to Piccadilly)
Rochdale to East Didsbury via Exchange Square
It is also planned to run additional double trams between Altrincham and Piccadilly from the start of service until 1600 to support travel to and from the Asics Greater Manchester Marathon.
