Seating on the way for selected Supertram stops

Over half of the stops of Stagecoach Supertram are about to be upgraded with the addition of seating in the coming weeks. The work to install seating will be started from Monday 27th February and is being undertaken by South Yorkshire PTE in partnership with Stagecoach Supertram.

The tram stops at Arbourthorne Road, Arena/Dom Valley Stadium, Bamforth Street, Birley Moor Road, City Hall, Crystal Peaks, Fitzalan Square, Gleadless Town End, Granville Road (city bound only), Hackenthorpe, Halfway, Hillsborough Park, Hollisend, Hyde Park, Infirmary Road (outbound only), Langsett Primrose View, Leppings Lane (city bound only), Malin Bridge, Manor Top, Meadowhall South (city bound only), Middlewood, Sheffield Station, University of Sheffield, Valley Centertainment, West Street (outbound only) and White Lane will see the seating installed with the work due to be completed by 16th March.

A spokesperson from SYPTE said: “We are delighted to be installing additional seating at selected tram stops on the Sheffield network. Seating at tram stops is something that has been requested by many of our customers, and we hope that this installation will improve comfort and customer experience on the tram network for all passengers.”

Throughout the works all tram stops will remain open and accessible for passengers.
