In Pictures: Edinburgh Trams 251 #Tramspotting livery

As we reported at the weekend the arrival of vinyl wraps in Edinburgh is continuing with a new livery being revealed in connection with Edinburgh Trams’ #Tramspotting campaign (inspired by the forthcoming release of the new film T2 Trainspotting which features the trams in several scenes). However unlike our presumptions that these would be carried by 261 to replace the vinyls for Hogmanay it is in fact 251 which is the #Tramspotting tram.

As with 261 the main bodyside vinyls on 251 are carried on the third and fifth sections of the tram with images of trams on the windows along with the service frequency of every 7 minutes. It also encourages prospective passengers to Choose More Trams, More Often or just plain Chose Edinburgh Trams (taking its inspiration from the film’s famous tagline). The other sections of the tram feature above window pink vinyls only with the slogan “Decide to Glide”

251 heads for York Place having just left Haymarket on 16th January showing the full effect of its advert.

A close up view of one of the middle sections which features the main vinyls. The Choose more trams more often line is included on this section. 15th January.

Similar to 261, 251 also features above window vinyls with the Decide to Glide slogan.

Also part of the campaign is this poster advertising the 7 minute headway. (Photographs x3 by John Hampton)
