3116 into service in Manchester

The 148th tram to carry passengers on Manchester Metrolink has entered service with 3116 being noted in use on Wednesday 29th June. The tram is based at Queen’s Road and entered service on the Exchange Square to Rochdale Town Centre service (the service to Exchange Square seems to the first choice for most new trams now).

As mentioned last week due to the blockade through St Peter’s Square trams are currently marooned on either side of the works either at Queen’s Road or Trafford Depots. As things stand at the moment it is believed the trams are split as follows:

Queen’s Road:

3001, 3002, 3005, 3010-3012, 3014-3020, 3024, 3026, 3028-3032, 3035, 3037-3040, 3042, 3043, 3045-3048, 3050, 3054, 3057-3059, 3064, 3070, 3072, 3073, 3075, 3080, 3087, 3088, 3090, 3093, 3094, 3096, 3098, 3099, 3104, 3112, 3114-3117

Trafford:

3003, 3004, 3006, 3009, 3013, 3021-3023, 3025, 3027, 3033, 3034, 3036, 3041, 3044, 3049, 3051-3053, 3055, 3056, 3060-3063, 3065-3069, 3071, 3074, 3076-3079, 3081-3086, 3089, 3091, 3092, 3095, 3097, 3100-3103, 3105-3111

Crunchie tram 3007 is also at Queens Road Depot

  2. Richard Ernill says:

    Where’s 3008?

    • Ken Walker says:

And 3113 if you’re going to split hairs lol. I’m just grateful for info on 114/117!

      • Andy Cowrad says:

3008 is at Trafford – I guess Steve overlooked it when he compiled his list. 3114 and 3117 are both At Queens Road and whilst 3114 is in service regularly on the Rochdale line, it will probably be around two weeks before 3117 ventures out into public service.

        • Ken Walker says:

Sorry, I meant that I was grateful that Steve Kemp had gone to the time and trouble to provide the whereabouts of 114 out of the 117 vehicles that are on the system, not 3114 and 3117, which are included in his list. Poorly-worded posting on my part!

Do we know at this stage what the service patterns will be once 2CC is fully opened?
